The person you either hate OR love

I have just finished reading 'I don't mean to be rude, but ....' by Simon Cowell. The book tells us how he started as a mailboy in EMI and later became the most hated/loved person in the entertainment world.

It was said that, this book is valuable to those who aspire to be a star. No, I do not want to be a star. I bought the book because I love him. The reason I watched American Idol is because of his blunt and honest remark. He is actually saying what we feel ... things we will say at home when we watch those auditions. And things we wouldn't say on tv.

It turned out that he wasn't that 'mean' at the start of Pop Idol. There were 3 other judges with him. They were very nice to participants but, Simon Cowell didn't like for not being himself. So they agreed, they will just be themself.

The book was included with hate-mail...you know, people complaining that he is mean and rude, BUT there's one which I find amusing. It was written by Simon Cowell to his parents when he was sent to a boarding school.

Dear Mum & Dad,

I hope you're happy to finally have got rid of me. I also hope you're happy in your centrally heated warm house an you have a lot to eat. Because I am lying in the dormitory which has icicles on the inside, and there is nothing to eat. I'm freezing cold and hungry. I hope you're finally satisfied.

Another reason I bought the book is because I know he will be brutally honest in it. If he dare to be mean and rude on tv, what will hold him back in his so-called autobiography. And also because I thought he will discuss about his relationship with Paula Abdul. Sigh... nothing much about Paula though.

I am going to start reading Empress Orchid now.

On British Airways

I received this piece from a colleague of mine. It was said to be a true story. I felt bad for that guy. How would he feel being ostracised and rejected? How would you feel being treated the same way?

A white woman, about 50 years old, was seated next to a black man.

Obviously disturbed by this, she called the air Hostess.

"Madam, what is the matter," the hostess asked.

"You obviously do not see it then?" She responded.

"You placed me next to a black man. I do not agree to sit next to someone from such a repugnant group. Give me an alternative seat."

"Be calm please," the hostess replied.

"Almost all the places on this flight are taken. I will go to see if another place is available."

The Hostess went away and then came back a few minutes later.

"Madam, just as I thought, there are no other available seats in the economy class. I spoke to the captain and he informed me that there is also no seat in the business class. All the same, we still have one place in the first class."

Before the woman could say anything, the hostess continued.

"It is not usual for our company to permit someone from the economy class to sit in the first class. However, given the circumstances, the captain feels that it would be scandalous to make someone sit next to someone sooooo disgusting".

She turned to the black guy, and said, "Therefore, Sir, if you would like to, please collect your hand luggage, a seat awaits you in first class."

At that moment, the other passengers who were shocked by what they had just witnessed stood up and applauded.

Well, there was no mentioned of colored people in the Bible just man or women thus, we re all equal in His eyes so STOP discriminating right now.

There are only 2 kind of people on earth the BAD and GOOD ones.

Hey, I heard he is in Malaysia. Maybe he was. Urmmn.... someone saw him with camera crew in Jalan Raja Chulan on the 18th of May. Hrmmm.... I was in KL yesterday, how'd come I don't see him?!?!

But, I bumped into Paul Moss of Malaysian Idol fame last Friday! Yeah, quite an eye-catcher...maybe because he is a celebrity. I wonder whether I will get to see Simon Cowell....

Jerry O'Connell

Was browsing Oprah's webpage when I stumbled against the name Jerry O'Connell's. He looks familiar but can't recall who he is. Done some checking, and voila --> this is the guy from Secret Identity. My favourite tv series at that time (besides Doogie Howser MD). He also acted in Scream2 (Neve's bf) and Jerry Maquire (don't recall much). He is now an actor, producer & director.

After some info checking on O'Connell, I decided to look up Neil Patrick Harris too. I thought he has stopped acting but there's quite a number of credits up his sleeve.

Bellini

Recipes & Directions
One third fresh peach juice and two thirds chilled Prosecco sparkling wine. Make sure to pour the peach juice into the glass first.

Eggnog

A Christmas time drink ... a mixture of milk and rum and supposed to be spicy and alcoholic.

Ingredients

2 oz light rum

6 oz milk

1 tbsp powdered sugar

1 whole egg

nutmeg

Directions

Shake all ingredients (except nutmeg) with ice and strain into a collins glass. Sprinkle nutmeg on top and serve.
