Beads

Floating Flower Necklace Posted by Hello

Spent about an hour selecting my beads online. Have not been doing any beaded-jewellery for the past 1 month ... due to the long hours I spent in my client's place.

I saw in the Jusco's (a supermarket) magazine that there's a craft centre in their store which sells beads and stringing supplies. But when I asked them for tigertail, they looked baffled. And I wasn't too sure whether the strings/wires that they use will be the same as tigertails. The only shop who knows what they are selling is BeadBar but they overcharged for almost everything. So instead, I go online and made my purchases. At least the price is more reasonable.
At current, my orders have reached A$47 ... I have not 'checkout' yet. Still thinking whether I should spend RM141 for this hobby of mine. Wait till my mum hear this!

Mandarin speaking

After reading Jase's - Retarded Customers On The Prowl, I would like to add on my say here. Malaysia is a multicultural country and there's many languages and dialects being spoken. But do not assume we speak your language or dialect.
You do not go to a stranger and start babbling in Mandarin. As a courtesy, ask whether they understand before you speak. What surprises me the most is when this person from an 'English language centre', going to housing area to promote their centre - can't speak a word of English.
This happened when I was still in school.
He/she (I don't remember) rang the doorbell. My mum answered the door and that person started promoting in Mandarin. We are non-Mandarin speakers but we can still understand a bit. My mum then replied in English, asking where is the centre and stuff...and that person was speechless.
Why does an English language centre send someone who can't speak the language they are promoting? Aren't they supposed to train their own staffs first before accepting students?
I do not look down on them or meant anything like that ... I have lotsa Mandarin speaker's friend and I am actually looking for a language centre to brush up my Mandarin (for self improvement purposes) BUT I think they should not think all Chinese speak Mandarin.

The dinner & The Grudge

Attended my cousin's wedding dinner last Saturday night. It was a rather big event ... with 34 tables for 340 guests. Me and a couple of my other cousins were picked to be the dinner's usher. I guess we were a bunch of a lousy ushers - we stood together most of the time asking each other, 'Who is this?'.

My uncle invited a few performers to sing. But the music was too loud, I thought I was going deaf. My table was quite empty...there were only 7 of us. Most of the food left untouch (this is not usually the case) due to the deafening noise.

Went to watch The Grudge the next day. It was pretty spooky I think ...not too sure cos I had my eyes shut whenever I felt the ghost is about to appear. What's with the current trend of spooky movies anyway? Most of them have long hair...and you won't be able to see their faces...and they tend to crawl instead of walk. I think the best was still The Ring -the ghost actually crawl out from the tv...but to me, once you have a movie with ghost crawling...then that should be the pioneer and the last.

Going Live

As I am typing this, I am still at my client's place. They are going live today ... which is in 6 hours time. Small project yet major problems erupted ... for no apparent reason. Hrmmn, sure there is a reason to it but what the heck .. I have no idea.
I am sleepy but waiting for my colleague to finish writing his coding.
